easyAIRDROP Rechargeable – VHF rescue locator unit A167

The easyAIRDROP Rechargeable contains the VHF locator unit easyPOSALERT to support rescue teams, such as SAR airplanes or SAR helicopters.
Packed in a waterprotected box, the easyAIRDROP with the built in VHF locator is ready to go for any situation. Just open the box, get the easyAIRDROP and throw it out. An automatic triggering function activates the internal VHF locator unit when it is submerged into the water.Being activated once, the unit transmits a current VHF emergency telegram to all VHF receivers within range. Position is updated every minute with COG, SOG and identification number of the unit.

Function

The air deployable housing is made of 2 fl oatable plastic parts and is kept together with 2 straps. A soluble tablet will fi x the straps until the whole unit is submerged into water. The VHF rescue locator unit easyPOSALERT is mounted inside the housing.By dissolving the tablet, the housing is opened, and the unit starts transmission by water activation.
A weight at the bottom will keep the easyAIRDROP in upright position for best possible radiation. With the long antenna radio range will be 9 to 12 nm to a vessel. SAR airplanes or helicopters will receive the signal in a distance of up to 80 nm by 500 feet fl ight level.

What is neseccary to run the easyAIRDROP Rechagreable?

The easyAIRDROP with the internal VHF rescue locator unit is ready: „grab and go“. To receive the transmitted signal, an AIS
capable chartplotter or PC software is required to display the rescue relevant data.

AIS-SART – position live on chartplotter/PC
easyRescue transmits the position of a liferaft / lifeboat in distress directly to all AIS receivers within range.

Functionality:
The Easy Rescue is an AIS-SART. With a built in GPS it transmits an emergency AIS-SART sentence which triggers an alarm on all AIS enabled chart plotters / PC’s within range, along with the Lat/Long of the liferaft / lifeboat. The GPS is a new generation fast acquiring type and the VHF AIS transmitter repeats the message and position several times per minute. This enables all vessels within range to assist with the rescue if they have an AIS receiver or transponder.

What else do I need?
Apart for an AIS receiver or transceiver connected to a chart plotter / PC, nothing. The Easy Rescue is used on liferaft / lifeboat. To operate just slide the safety cover off (releasing the coiled antenna) and press ON. A test button allows regular test of GPS function, battery state etc.

The easyRESCUE-A transmits the position of liferaft in distress directly to all AIS receivers within range.

Substantial modification to the equivalent easyRESCUE is the “auto activation” mode. It triggers if the device has complete water contact for more than 2 sec. If the RESCUE-A is activated it repeats a constant AIS radio signal. Of course, the manual activation by pressing the “ON”-Button is still possible.

How does the easyRESCUE-A work?

With a built in GPS the easyRESCUE-A transmits an emergency AIS-S.A.R.T. message which triggers an alarm on all AIS enabled chart plotters / Pc’s within range, along with the LAT/Long of the liferaft in distress. The GPS is a new generation fast acquiring type and the VHF AIS transmitter repeats the message and position several times per minute. This enables all vessels within range to assist with the rescue if they have an AIS receiver or an AIS transponder.

What else do I need?

An AIS receiver or transponder connected to a chart plotter/PC. The easyRESCUE-A have to be attached to a liferaft/lifeboat. A test button allows regular test of GPS function, battery state etc.

Approval

Our easyRESCUE Rescue Transmitters have a basic approval and do not have to be registered anymore!

The easyRESCUE-A040-BW-COM enables to display the current GPS position of a person or a life raft in distress on chart plotter or PC screen by means of AIS technologies.

Substantial modification to the equivalent easyRESCUE and easyRESCUE-A with its “auto activation” by means of water contact, this device has got a third activation mode: a magnetic switch with a ripcord.

If the easyRESCUE-A040-BW-COM is activated once, it repeats a recurring AIS alert radio signal with the GPS position of the victim. Of course the manual activation by pressing the “ON” button is still possible, as well as the “water contact triggering function”.

The easyRESCUE has got full approvals of world’s most important institutions, which are the German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency BSH, the US- Federal Communication Commission FCC and the US Coast Guard. By means of this high approving level the easyRESCUE is outstanding in the market for AIS S.A.R.T. in this size.

Function

At the top of the easyRESCUE-A040-BW-COM there is a magnetic switch with a ripcord. If the ripcord is pulled, the switch is dissolved from the device, an the automatically activation function starts. After activation, the easyRESCUE-A040-BW-COM transmits an emergency AIS S.A.R.T message which triggers an alarm on all AIS enabled chart plotters/PC’s within range, including the current GPS position of the victim. The emergency message is repeated several times per minute. It enables all vessels within range to assist with the rescue if they have an AIS receiver or an AIS transceiver.

What do I need to run the easyRESCUE-A040-BW-COM?

The usage of the easyRESCUE-A040-BW-COM needs no additional devices. Due to its small size, the easyRESCUE-A040-BW-COM is ready for entertainment and is built to be assembled on a life raft. The attached belt clip simplifies the assembly of the device.
