Important safety information when navigating ships
Observe your duties of care despite the use of the latest technology!

The Information given on this homepage can be changed without notice.

If you choose to use an AIS Class B Transceiver or an AIS Receiver in a boat, it is the sole responsibility of the owner or operator of the boat to operate the boat in a safe manner, maintain full surveillance of all boating conditions at all times, and never become distracted by an AIS device to the exclusion of safe operating practices.

The AIS devices do not release the skipper from his duty of care!Despite AIS, good seamanship is still essential!

Some ships do not yet have an AIS transmitter on board. Extensive equipment requirements only apply from July 1, 2008.
