Data processing at ME SENSE

1. Type, Scope, and Frequency of Data Collection

Data Collected:

  • Sensor data, depending on the configuration, including: temperature, humidity, air pressure, bilge level (water level), battery voltage, shore power status, door contacts, motion/tilt sensor, GPS position, device status of the relay/gate

  • System data: serial numbers, firmware version, communication status

  • Event data: alarms, switching operations, app interactions

Transmission Method:
The sensors communicate with the ME SENSE relay/gate via Bluetooth®, which transmits the data to the ME SENSE cloud via Wi-Fi or cellular network (LTE gate).

Frequency::
Data is transmitted at regular intervals (typically every minute) or upon triggering events (e.g., alarms).

Storage and Retention:

  • For the user: Data is available in the cloud for 30 days.

  • For the data owner (Weatherdock AG): Data is stored for up to 60 days and then automatically deleted.

Hosting location:
Data is stored at Amazon Web Services (AWS) in data centers within the European Union.

User access:
Users can access their data at any time via the ME SENSE app, view historical measurements (up to 30 days in the past), and manage alarms.

Data type

This product generates various data, such as:

  • Position data: e.g., GPS coordinates

  • Environmental data: e.g., barometric altimeter, temperature, humidity

  • Product status information: e.g., battery life in percent, system status

Further information about the data generated by this product can be found in the technical specifications on the product page.

Format GPX, FIT, JSON
Estimated data volume The amount of data generated depends on various factors, such as the frequency of use, the functions used, and individual settings.
Real-time and continuous data generation The product is capable of generating data continuously and in real time. However, whether data is actually generated continuously depends on the functions used and the settings chosen.
Data storage

The data is stored exclusively in the cloud. No local storage is performed on the device. Data is transferred to your account upon upload and secured there.
The data cannot be deleted by the user.

Storage period The recorded sensor data is automatically deleted after 30 days.
Data management and further information

You can view and manage your data via the ME SENSE app. Please also refer to our privacy policy and terms of use, which contain further details on data processing.

2. User rights regarding data

The user has the right at any time to:

  • access to the data stored on his boat,

  • on correction of inaccurate data, on correction of inaccurate data,

  • to the deletion of his data (unless there are legal retention obligations),

  • data portability in a common format,

  • to restrict processing or objection to certain processing activities.

Inquiries regarding this can be sent via email to dsb@weatherdock.de

3. Data sharing and purposes of use

  • The collected data is used by Weatherdock AG to provide, maintain and improve the ME SENSE service.

  • Data processors (e.g., cloud hosting by AWS) process data exclusively on behalf of and according to the instructions of Weatherdock.

  • Your data will not be shared with third parties for advertising or analysis purposes.

  • Data will only be shared if you explicitly activate this (e.g., release to a maintenance or security partner).

4. Prevention of data transfer to third parties

The user can request at any time that data transfers to third parties be stopped.
Since ME SENSE cloud functions require a data connection, blocking data transmission to the cloud will render the service unusable. Purely local use is not possible.

5. Contract duration and termination

  • Basic version: Using ME SENSE with one sensor is free.

  • Extended version: For more than one sensor, an annual subscription is required (€29.99 per year).

  • Term: 12 months, automatically renewed for another year unless terminated in due time.

  • Cancellation: possible at any time at the end of the term via the customer account or by email.

  • After the contract ends, all device-related data will be deleted in accordance with the above retention periods.

6. Currentness of this information

This information is current as of October 2025 and will be updated as needed to reflect changes in legal requirements or technical processes.
