What is Malizia Mangrove Park?

MORE SAFETY ON BOARD, MORE TREES ON THE PHILIPPINE COASTS

Mama Earth Foundation is planting 1,000,000 mangroves for Malizia Mangrove Park in the Philippines. Mangroves bind a very large amount of climate-damaging CO2 and also protect the coasts and coral reefs. The restoration of the ecosystem also contributes to a better income for local residents.

We, the Weatherdock company, are very happy to support this project. In 2023, thanks to our customers, we were able to plant over 14,000 mangroves. This enabled us to actively support Boris Herrmann’s project and the fight against CO2!

How does Weatherdock support the project?

1 EASY2-MOB = 10 MANGROVES

For every easy2-MOB rescue transmitter sold in 2023, we donated 10 mangroves to the Malizia Mangrove Park.
This means that for every easy2 MOB, 10 trees were planted in the Philippines.

The project “1,000,000 mangroves for the Malizia Mangrove Park” was created by Boris Herrmann and carried out in cooperation with the Mama Earth Foundation.

From rearing to planting to the tree

Why are mangrove forests so important?

PLANT MANGROVE TREES, RESTORE ECOSYSTEM

Mangrove trees are found in tropical and subtropical coastal environments where freshwater and saltwater meet. What is special: Every mangrove tree binds 3 to 5 times the amount of CO2 compared to a tree on land.

But a mangrove can do even more! It offers the coasts protection from tsunamis and storm surges, as the water masses can be better kept off the land. Mangrove forests protect numerous fish and bird species from natural enemies and filter the water. Thus, the planting of mangrove forests is a sustainable measure, not only for climate protection.
