Unboxing & Mangroven-Projekt

In the easy2-MOB ‘how to …’ video series, we present our new easy2-MOB AIS rescue transmitter. This will familiarise you with the device and explain the functions of the easy2-MOB. We also draw your attention to our co-operation with the mangrove project of Boris Herrmann, the well-known German sailing professional. In co-operation with the Mama Earth Foundation, 10 new mangroves are planted with every easy2-MOB sold thanks to our donation. Find out more about this project here >

A new standard will apply from the beginning of 2023. After that, all AIS MOB rescue transmitters with DSC distress call must have a device that deactivates all functions. The new easy2-MOB therefore has a yellow magnetic slider that can be set to DISARMED or ARMED. DISARMED means that all automatic functions and the TEST button are deactivated. ARMED means that the automatic functions and the TEST button are activated.

App installation & MMSI programming

In the easy2-MOB ‘how to …’ video series, we present our new easy2-MOB AIS MOB rescue transmitter. This time we will be looking at the associated free easy2-MOB app and programming the MMSI number of our DSC radio into the easy2-MOB.

The easy2-MOB app is available free of charge from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. Enter Weatherdock as the search term and then scroll through the list of our available apps until the easy2-MOB app is visible. Simply download, install and open.

A connection is established between the smartphone and the easy2-MOB via Bluetooth(R) so that the MMSI number can be entered.

Life Jacket integration

In the easy2-MOB ‘how to …’ video series, we show you how easy it is to insert the easy2-MOB into an automatic lifejacket.

The great advantages of the easy2-MOB over other devices on the market become clear here.

Important note on insertion:
Please make absolutely sure that the yellow magnetic slider is on the left-hand side for ARMED. This is the only way to activate the automatic release. Since the beginning of 2023, a new standard stipulates that AIS MOB devices must have an automatic switch-off option. For this reason, it is essential to ensure that the slider is set to ARMED so that the automatic release works in an emergency.

Activation LIVE

The automatic lifejacket opens as soon as it comes into contact with water. Inflating the waistcoat pushes the easy2-MOB AIS rescue transmitter outwards into the water. Water contact also automatically activates the rescue transmitter and the antenna unwinds and deploys. The device rises, floats on the water surface and is connected to the person in the water by the safety line. The easy2-MOB transmits AIS and DSC distress signals.

ReFitting

In the easy2-MOB video series ‘How to …’, we show you how easy it is to replace and insert the cellulose tablet.

If the easy2-MOB has been triggered and now needs to be made ready for use again, a new cellulose tablet must be inserted. The reasons for the change can vary. Either the easy2-MOB was in use, or the device accidentally fell into water and was triggered, or the device was lying around open and the cellulose tablet absorbed moisture and dissolved.

Note for you:
Please check the condition of the cellulose tablet at regular intervals. All you need to do is take a quick look at the back of the easy2-MOB. The cellulose tablets used are the same as those used in automatic lifejackets.
