Mark a waterway without deploying physical buoys: Virtual AIS navigation markers allow you to electronically mark fairway boundaries and display them on compatible onboard display systems. The easyAtoN Type 3 from Weatherdock transmits the identification and position of the markers via AIS – without requiring a physical navigational aid at each marked position.
Nuremberg – A waterway is to be marked electronically, for example, along an approach channel: Instead of deploying a physical buoy at each marker position, virtual AIS navigation markers are used. The easyAtoN Type 3 transmits their identification and position from its installation location. On compatible AIS-enabled chartplotters or in corresponding navigation software, the markers appear at the designated positions, thus making the course of the fairway digitally visible. The transponder supports up to 32 physical, synthetic, and/or virtual marker positions.
Flexible Marking for Diverse Applications
The easyAtoN Type 3 is designed for use at harbor and marina entrances, maritime navigational aids, and fixed or floating navigation markers on the high seas. With up to 32 transmittable marker positions for real, synthetic, and virtual buoys, the transponder offers diverse possibilities for digitally enhancing maritime markings. Its low power consumption and simple parameterization make the easyAtoN Type 3 a versatile tool for water and shipping authorities.
Robust Technology for Maritime Applications
The robust, water- and dust-resistant housing meets IP67 protection standards. An integrated GNSS receiver provides position data. Furthermore, the device enables the transmission of navigational aid status data or sensor data via the AIS network. Received AIS traffic can be output to external traffic management systems via interfaces.
With the easyAtoN Type 3, Weatherdock offers a cost-effective, reliable and easy-to-install AIS-AtoN that significantly increases safety in shipping and can be used in both inland waters and sea areas thanks to parameterization.
