Function
AIS Aid to Navigation (AtoN) transmitter type 1
The easyAtoN Type 1 is an AIS transmitter used as ‚Aid to Navigation‘ type1 to provide location and identification of buoys, beacons and marks to nearby vessels and to display them on AIS chart displays in real-time.
The easyAtoN Type 1 has got a rugged IP67 housing which can be mounted easily on fixed objects, e.g. buoys to prevent collisions by transmitting the identification and position of the mark. The unit is able to create “real” electronical navigation marks which appear on AIS capable electronic chart plotters or navigation PC-software.
The easyAtoN Type 1 is developed for the typical usage at marina or harbor entries, maritime warning signs or any kind of fixed or floating navigational marker buoys.
Function
The easyAtoN Type 1 is operating in AIS FATDMA mode (Fixed Access Time Devision Multiple Access) into a special time slot which must be reserved by an AIS Base Station.
Vessels AIS system will get the information that this slot is occupied by the base station and will not transmit their AIS data within this slot.
The easyAtoN Type 1 is programmed in advance via programming socket and special programing software by means of the administrator to use only this slot to transmit the position and identification of the mark on both AIS frequencies.
Within range of the operating AIS Base Station every easyAtoN Type 1 has to have its own time slot reserved to transmit into the AIS traffic to inform all entering and exiting vessels.
For configuration of the easyAtoN Type 1 the programing socket A124 (available as an accessory) needs to be connected via USB cable to a PC or Laptop with running programing software. The easyAtoN Type 1 has to be fixed on the programing socket. The socket can be used for more than one easyAtoN Type 1 configuration by an administration.
