The editorial team conducted the tests at sea, specifically in Solent, south coast of England. After getting permission from local authorities (Solent Coastguard) they proceeded to evaluate each of the AIS beacons, checking if the emergency AIS message was received properly by their Garmin receiver they had onboard. After testing the units they gave their verdict and rated from 1 to 10 each of the devices.

In these tests Yachting Monthly rated the AIS S.A.R.T. easyRESCUE- PRO (including additional DSC  distress functionality) with 7/10 and the AIS MOB easyONE with 8/10 being the easyONE the best qualified of all the AIS emergency beacon which were tested.

In its verdict on the easyONE, the editorial team provides this argument:

We like the lightness and simplicity of this device, its ability to transmit for 36 hours, and its 7 years battery shelf life. We also like the fact that it floats and can be activated automatically without relying on a conscious MOB or the inflating bladder of a lifejacket to trigger it.

For the last 25 years, the trade fair and congress HUSUM Wind takes place in Husum, Germany. Every two years, companies, project developers, government agencies and other people who are related to the wind energy industry meet in this place.

Darling Harbour and the Sydney Exhibition Center are the scenarios for the Sydney International Boatshow 2015, an event that since 1968 has become the most important of its kind in the southern hemisphere.

This exhibition will take place in Australia, from July 30 to August 3. Weatherdock will be represented by its new partner, RWB Marine, a company with over fifty years of experience in the marine sector. Their headquarters are precisely in Sydney.

RWB Marinewill have at its booth the easyRESCUE-PRO, the easyONE, AIS-IS, and the TRX2S series. Visit their booth and have the opportunity to learn more about the advantages of Weatherdock technology for safe navigation.

From this year, the presence of Weatherdock in East Asia will be reinforced by our new partner, Taro Yoshikawa and his company Q-Sync Corporation. He is not only responsible for the distribution of the Weatherdock products but he is also bringing ahead the approval of our devices and systems in Japan, in order to allow their use in that country.

For the few who do not know the sailing race; “YSY around North Holland regatta” (http://rnh.ysy.nl):
Every year this regatta takes place on the Markermeer, the IJsselmeer, the western Wadden Sea and the North Sea. The Regatta starts from Muiden and the route leads through Enkhuizen, Kornwerderzand, Den Helder and finishes in IJmuiden. There were about 160 ships with around 700 participantsparticipants in the race around north Holland in 2015.

Dirk Bouma with his wife Sabine, were victorious in 3 different categories:
The fastest ship short handed (2persons).
The fastest ship of all short handed classes.
The fastest ship of the Yachtclub Seaport Ymuiden members.

When you face 5-6bf wind the only possible way to achieve three triumphs at a time is with courage, great skill and tactics.

Der AIS Seenotsender easyRESCUE wird zurzeit auf einer Messe in Indonesien präsentiert. Die Messe INAMARINE, die vom 20. Bis 22. Mai 2015 stattfindet, ist ein internationales Business to Business “B2B” Fachveranstaltung. Die Schwerpunkte der Messe liegen in den Bereichen Schifffahrt- und Schiffsbau-Industrie..

Besides the “World Maritime Rescue Congress”, organized by The International Maritime Rescue Federation (IMRF) in Bremerhaven, it takes place the exhibition on maritime safety, MMS for experts and general public. It begins at 30th May and finishes on the 2nd June.

Weatherdock will participate in these exhibition, and you can find us at stand number 11.

Another relevant event, which takes place parallel to the exhibition, is the 150 anniversary of German Maritime Search and Rescue Association (DGzRS), during the days 30th and 31st of May.

The exhibition, the congress and the anniversary offer an extraordinary framework to present the products of weatherdock, which are direct and explicit related to the main topic of all these activities: maritime safety.

The magazine PALSTEK, Technical Magazine of sailors for sailors, published in its issue 3/15 a new article about the different maritime emergency beacons in the market.

The complete article is only available in the printed version and in German.

The reader can find in 22 pages important answers to his questions about maritime safety and emergency beacons. Some questions are answered with numerous technical information. For example: “What devices are useful for which purposes” or “What kinds of distress beacons are in the market.”

The third edition of the AIS Summit will be held on Thursday, 7 May 2015 and Friday, 8 May 2015 in Hamburg, Germany. One of the speakers of the first hour is once again Alfred Kotouczek the CEO of Weatherdock.

“Small vessel tracking by AIS! Technology comparison Class A versus Class B”.

The AIS Summit is the most important conference for the AIS ship tracking technology. This event is not supposed to be a platform for commercial promotion but an opportunity for different professionals to exchange ideas and push ahead the AIS technology.
