Please also take a look at the FAQs for the previous version; many general questions are already answered there, and those answers also apply to our second generation.

Connect the device to your PC or Mac via USB and launch the programming tool.
There, under Advanced>WiFi, you can view the assigned IP address.
Alternatively, open your router’s web interface and look for the connected devices. You’ll find the easyTRX3S in the list there.
One device can receive AIS/GPS data from the easyTRX3S if it is connected directly to the “easyTRX3S_XXXX” access point.
We recommend connecting the easyTRX3S to your onboard router and its 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
Your router will then assign an IP address to the easyTRX3S. You will then have unrestricted access to the AIS/GPS data.
It is not possible to change the MMSI directly.
To do so, you must perform a factory reset.
This will delete the static vessel data.
You can find instructions on how to do this here:
How could I delete the MMSI number, doing a Factory-Reset?
- Connect to your device’s “easyTRX3S_XXX” Wi-Fi hotspot; you’ll find the login credentials on the bottom of the device.
- If necessary, confirm the “No Internet” message by selecting “Always Stay Connected.” This procedure may vary depending on your device.
- Open the navigation app; in the following example, we’ll use the Navionics® Boating App
- Click on Menu, scroll down to “Paired Devices,” or add a new connection if necessary.
- Use the + button to add a new entry.
- Your phone/tablet is directly connected to the TRX3S access point:
Host: 192.168.2.1, or 127.0.0.1
Port Number: 10110
UDP
- The easyTRX3S’s Wi-Fi is connected to your own hotspot
Host: 192.168.2.1, or 127.0.0.1
Port Number: 10110
UDP
- As soon as data arrives, you’ll see the green text “Connected” in the entry
- If the RX LED on the easyTRX3S is flashing, AIS vessels should now be visible on the map.
For previous 1st-generation easyTRX3/S devices, the IP address is 192.168.16.254, port 8080, and TCP instead of UDP
Only one app can retrieve data per device (tablet, cell phone, etc.) at a time.
Another app, such as Navionics, cannot receive AIS/GPS data at the same time. This is an operating system requirement for UDP servers, over which we have no control.
Therefore, close the app on your device to allow another app to access this AIS/GPS data.
This also applies to tools such as the easyTRX3 Manager (app for iOS or Android) and the easyTRX3 Programming Tool (Windows/Mac).
