FAQ: easySPLIT 2nd. Gen.
2) Reflection because of a not-resonant antenna or defective cable. If the power of the transmitter is not clear transmitted through the easySPLIT to the end of the antenna, that means it is reflected at the antenna contact, a standing wave in the device and cable to the sender will occur. Because of this overlay effects of the back and forth wave on the conductor board will appear, which can reduce the level for the detector and cause the jittering. In most cases this happens at low power but is also possible to happen at high power. Please check: Are the contacts of the antenna connector correct soldered and is the groundground of the coaxial cable correct separated from the inner wire? Please check this again at the connector which goes into the easySPLIT, at the connector which goes into the radio transceiver and at the radio transceiver itself.
Yes it does, though it hurts that you do not have the best AIS receiver (ours) onboard. Our easySPLIT is compatible with all AISreceivers without exception.
The FM-output of the easySPLIT has an upper frequency limit of about 108Mhz. 156Mhz are in the cut-off area of the electronic filter connected to the FM output. Therefore it will not work to connect a DSC-receiver to the FM output (car radio). But, of course you can use the DSC controller at the VHF output of the easySPLIT.
For protection of the connected hardware the outputs to the AIS-receiver and to the VHF-radio are disconnected when sending with the VHF-voice radio. It will be switched over at a transmission power of about 250mW. But it means only a low restriction, because the voice radio works mostly in stand-by mode on reception.
The answer is: Only one time, then it is broken. NO, you need to “upgrade” to another hardware, the easySPLIT OCB.
A normal radio needs ca. 20ms to build up transmission power. Only if the radio has built up its transmission power, the DSC signal can be send. (Of course, if else the signal would be transmitted without power). Meanwhile you can send a DSC Message without problems.
